We found The Board Beauties on Twitter; team member Joel Elliott (@OttawaJoel) answered our call for feature mo’s!

This is the third year The Board Beautieshave participated in Movember (we hope their significant others like facial hair!) and they have put together quite a few activities to help raise awareness and money – these are some great ideas that you can use in your own campaigns:

The Pie-in-the-Face Team Fundraising idea! Whoever has the most money in the jar gets the pie!

- A Movember bake sale
- A potluck lunch
- A push-up doubler challenge
- Pie in the face jars – where whoever has the most money in the jar come pie-facing time gets the honours!

What is a “push-up doubler challenge” you ask?

(Don’t worry, we had to ask too.)

This challenge aims to double the maximum amount of pushups one can do in less than two weeks. It involves taking a quick break from work every hour to do pushups (a different number for each person) every day, including weekends.

This week alone, Conference Board employees will do over 27,000 pushups! Next week, the numbers increase… so who knows how many they’ll be pumping out?! The challenge is “pay to play”, so this initiative will not only raise money for the team, but will also increase overall workplace wellness as well. Wins all around!

So it’s not just the mo-adorning team members raising funds and awareness for Movember; their colleagues at The Conference Board of Canada have backed this effort in full force, helping with ideas and motivating others to help with the cause!
